For Catholic readers

Walk with the Holy Spirit in real life.A discipleship journey for Catholic hearts — rooted in Scripture, at home in the sacraments.

HALAK helps believers walk with the Holy Spirit in real life — surrender, hear, obey, and lead without losing the inner witness. This page speaks directly to Catholic members: the same book, read with the Jerusalem Bible on the desk and the life of the Church in view.

A word to Catholic readers

The Spirit you received is not a stranger.

If you were baptised and confirmed in the Catholic Church, the Holy Spirit is not a new idea — He is the gift you have carried your whole life. What many of us were never taught is how to walk with Him: how to listen, how to discern, how to obey promptly, and how to lead others without drying out inside.

HALAK — the Hebrew word for “walked” — is a sixteen-chapter journey in exactly that. It is written for real life: work, family, parish commitments, and the quiet hours nobody sees. It does not ask you to leave the Church to find the Spirit; it asks you to walk with the Spirit the Church has always proclaimed.

Throughout the book, Scripture is quoted from the New King James Version with the Catholic Jerusalem Bible alongside — so Catholic readers can follow in the translation they know from the lectionary and from lectio divina.

From the sample — Chapter 2

“I will walk among you.”

“I will live in your midst; I will be your God and you shall be my people.”
Leviticus 26:12 — Jerusalem Bible

Walking is covenant language. From Eden to Emmaus, God meets His people on the road. The full excerpt — “What It Means to Walk” — is on the book page, with NKJV and Jerusalem Bible side by side, followed by a chapter summary and Scripture notes written for Catholic readers and parish groups.

The journey

Five movements of a Spirit-led life

Surrender

The posture of Mary — “let it be done to me.” HALAK begins where all discipleship begins: yielding the will to God before asking for direction.

Hear

Scripture, stillness, and the long Catholic practice of lectio divina — learning to recognise the Spirit's voice without rushing past it.

Obey

Grace moves the will; we still have to walk. Obedience as a daily, ordinary act — in the family, the parish, the workplace.

Lead

Spirit-led life is not private. HALAK equips parents, catechists, and parish leaders to guide others without losing their own inner witness.

Inner witness

The quiet testimony of the Spirit within — the same Spirit received in Baptism and Confirmation — kept alive through real life, not just retreat days.

For parishes and prayer groups

Read HALAK together this year.

HALAK works well as a parish small-group read, a RCIA companion, or a men's or women's group study across a season. Bulk pricing is available for parishes, and the cohort walk — surrender, hear, obey, lead — gives groups a shared rhythm chapter by chapter.
